Across England, farming has moved away from the European Union’s (EU) Common Agricultural Policy and to Environmental Land Management Schemes instead.
Direct payments have been replaced by delinked payments and with this ending in 2027, the released funds are being redirected into new schemes including the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) and Countryside Stewardship (CS).
