These practical events will cover the key factors involved in getting the most from your maize / grassland crops whilst minimising environmental issues such as compaction, soil erosion and runoff.  Presentations inside will be followed by practical a demonstration outside so bring wellies & a coat.

·         Maize variety selection appropriate to your site & to achieve your target harvest date

·         Cultivations & consideration of drilling dates to give your maize the best start

·         Crop nutrient planning for grass & maize including the RB209 update – what to apply & when

·         The importance of good soil structure & management to optimise grass / maize yields

·         Methods to remediate poor soil structure in grassland & arable land – what to do, when & how
